YenPocket Privacy Policy
YenPocket (iOS) · Last updated: September 20, 2026
Summary
YenPocket is an offline-first yen currency converter. It has no accounts, no login, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. It does not collect personal data such as your name, email, or payment details. Two limited, non-personal data points are handled for app functionality only, described below.
On-Device (nothing transmitted)
All currency conversion, tax-free calculation, price parsing, and the basket run entirely on the device. A rate table ships in the app so it works offline.
Exchange Rates
The app fetches daily reference exchange rates from Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev, European Central Bank data). This is a request for rate data only. No user or personal data is sent with it.
Camera (Pro scanner)
The optional Pro scanner uses the camera with Apple's on-device text recognition (VisionKit). Images and recognised text are processed live on the device, are never saved, and never leave the phone. The only output is the price number.
In-App Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple and by RevenueCat, which manages purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated ID, a device identifier (IDFV), and purchase transaction data. It does NOT receive your name, email, or payment details — the app never has access to those. This data is used only to deliver purchases and is not used for tracking.

Data Storage
App settings, the basket, and the cached rate table are stored on the device only (shared between the app, its widget, and the watch app). They are not uploaded and are removed when the app is deleted.
Children
The app collects no personal data and is suitable for all ages.
Tracking
The app does not track users and contains no third-party tracking or advertising SDKs.
